Requirement:

Company seeks a highly-skilled Senior Linux Systems Administrator to lead our Systems team in India. The Senior Linux Systems Administrator will help oversee the maintenance of over 2,800 servers in 50 locations worldwide while supporting more than 300 users globally.It has over 150 high-capacity, low-latency, direct private lines between our sites, and we use the latest high-performance servers, network switches, and network cards.
The Company is a financial services firm located in New York that specializes in quantitative trading and investment strategies.
Founded in 1998, Company develops proprietary trading algorithms by using rigorous statistical methodology to identify non-random patterns in the behavior of markets. Exploiting these inefficiencies allows the firm to earn exceptional returns while mitigating risk.
In the course of developing its current trading strategies, Company has built a powerful set of analytical tools and an automated trade execution infrastructure, which it is leveraging to pursue new trading opportunities. The company is made up of a rare combination of highly proficient individuals with backgrounds in a variety of fields: mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics, economics, engineering, and finance.

Qualifications:

• Available to work in New York City for 2-3 months during an initial training period
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science from a top-tier university
• Extensive experience in Red Hat Linux administration
• Experience maintaining Cisco, Windows, and PC hardware
• Fluency in at least one scripting/coding language
• Hands-on knowledge of SSH, iptables administration, NFS, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP
• Experience with Open Source applications to build enterprise-level systems (i.e., Nagios, SmokePing, MRTG, etc.)
• Proven troubleshooting experience
• Expertise in maintaining Cisco ports/VLANs/dot1.x settings in any office environment.
• Ability to read and interpret English-language technical documents
• Ability to speak business-level English
• The indefinite right to work in India
